As with all aspects of the brand, Truvée takes a collaborative approach to winemaking, producing wines for women of the world.
As a member of the Truvée Collective, winemaker Kate Hongell is a central figure who oversees the wine direction of Truvée and brings consistency to the portfolio.
Kate’s career began in 1997 when she worked at a family-owned boutique winery in the Yea Valley, Victoria while studying for a Bachelor of Wine Science degree. Since then, Kate has worked on the Mornington Peninsula and Yarra Valley, as well as spending a harvest in California.
Kate has found great pleasure in successfully striking the right balance between working and being a mum. Describing herself as honest, authentic, disciplined and passionate, Kate names her children as her greatest personal achievement and her reason for waking up each day. She’s passionate about supporting women in the workplace – but is quick to point out “that’s not to say that men don’t deserve or need this support too, that’s equally important. Working as a team in all facets of life helps share the load,” Kate says.
